PRIORITIES
PUBLIC SAFETY
We’ve made important progress—but there’s more to do to keep our communities safe. I’m committed to getting illegal guns off our streets, addressing the growing intersection of youth and gun violence, and ensuring our schools and neighborhoods are places where families feel secure.
That also means confronting the fentanyl crisis head-on and protecting young people online with stronger digital safety measures. Our kids deserve safe spaces—on the streets, in schools, and on the internet—and I will work every day to make that a reality.
ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT
I believe in building a stronger local economy by investing in the small businesses that are the backbone of Wilmington. That means providing education and resources to help entrepreneurs thrive, celebrating the businesses we already have, and creating space for new ones to grow.
We must champion the American Dream—supporting local hiring, empowering innovation, and adapting to a rapidly evolving market that reflects Wilmington’s unique identity. Let’s do more to spotlight the products and services that are made right here. When we buy local, we keep money circulating in our community and lay the foundation for lasting prosperity.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND INCLUSIVE GROWTH
Everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home. I’m committed to making affordable housing a reality for all—from those currently unhoused to the essential workers who keep our city running, like teachers, nurses, and first responders.
In practice, this means building partnerships with public agencies, non-profits, and private developers to create housing that meets the diverse needs of our community. We can grow responsibly—by integrating thoughtful development that protects our tree canopy, honors our natural environment, and keeps Wilmington livable for generations to come.
TRANSPORTATION AND QUALITY OF LIFE
As Wilmington continues to grow, our infrastructure must keep pace. Today, congestion, unsafe intersections, and limited transportation options affect daily life and safety for everyone.
We need a thoughtful, long-term approach to improve how we move through our city. That includes addressing traffic bottlenecks, expanding safe routes for walking and biking, and strengthening public transit to offer more reliable choices.
Wilmington should be a place where all residents and visitors can get where they need to go—safely, efficiently, and with ease.
